…in his image?

“Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Once I loved you like a child
Once I watched my heart grow old
Once I let my thoughts run wild
my heart was made of gold
When I left my mother dear
When I left my father mild
nothing else was left to fear
I loved you like a child
I didn’t love them quite enough
to live their life instead of mine
once I loved you like a child
that was in another time.
