AChicapella is my female four-piece vocal group back home in Austria. We apply the tradition of American barbershop vocal harmony to female voices, taking influences from the Chordettes and the Comedian Harmonists. Our repertoire primarily consists of cover versions and new interpretations of hits of the 50s to the 80s, but we also write our own original material. Our song “Schokomann” (chocolate man) is particularly popular within all different audiences.
This is a sound sample of one of our very early rehearsals in 2010:
Due to the fact, that all the band members are now living in different places all over the world, the band’s organisational skills are repeatedly challenged. But – thanks to our love and enthusiasm for the project – we somehow manage to somehow always keep our mutual golden thread.
Our last big project contained successful concerts in Innsbruck (Austria), Würm (Germany) and at a doctors congress in Baden-Baden where we had the pleasure to be singing to our yet biggest audience of 650 people.
As a next project we now consider to tour the UK. 🙂
